Hello and welcome, friend!
I’m Kelsey, a birth doula serving Sonoma and the surrounding counties, and I am incredibly passionate about what I do. From education in pregnancy and help with baby shopping, to hands on birth support, to postpartum check ins, I am there for you every step of the way.
The word “doula” comes from Ancient Greek, meaning “a woman who serves.” Today, the meaning of doula has morphed into a simple phrase: Mothering the Mother
The role of the doula is an ancient one. Years ago, when women exclusively gave birth at home in the care of skilled midwives, women had their female family members support and guide them. But with the development of obstetrics and hospital births in the last century, women became estranged from the birth process, and family members lost sufficient knowledge and confidence to guide a woman.
My goal is to bring happiness, peace, and positivity back into the delivery room. And I cannot wait to go on this journey with you!

"A woman in birth is at once her most powerful, and most vulnerable. But any woman who has birthed unhindered understands that we are stronger than we know."

I’m Kelsey, your Sonoma County birth doula
A little about me, I have two little girls. They are my biggest inspiration for why I got into the doula field. After having two of my own traumatic birth experiences, I became incredibly passionate about making sure that other women wouldn’t go through the same things I did. When I learned about what exactly a doula was and what they did, it became something I was called to do. I have absolutely loved my work as a birth doula, and I am thrilled to be there for you as you welcome your little one into the world.

There is one significant difference between a midwife and a doula. Midwives provide medical care for you during pregnancy, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Doulas provide you and your family with emotional, informational, and physical support during pregnancy, birth and the immediate postpartum period.
